Reliance Jio is all set to disrupt the Indian smartphone market again with the launch of the Jio Phone 5G, a budget-friendly 5G device aimed at first-time smartphone users and budget-conscious buyers. After the success of its 4G-enabled JioPhone Next, the company now plans to make 5G accessible to all with a smartphone that supports India’s 5G network while keeping the price under ₹10,000. The launch is expected during the festive season or alongside a Jio event in late 2025.
Modern Display with 90Hz Smoothness
The new Jio 5G phone is likely to feature a 6.5-inch HD+ LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, providing smooth scrolling and better visuals for entry-level users. The display may include a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and minimal bezels, making it more modern and suitable for video streaming, browsing, and basic gaming.
Snapdragon Processor with Clean Android
Under the hood, the Jio Phone 5G is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 480+ or Snapdragon 695 chipset, both of which offer strong 5G connectivity and efficient performance for daily tasks. The phone may come with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, expandable via microSD, and will likely run a clean Android 13 (Go Edition or lightweight custom build) to ensure smooth performance and regular updates.
Dual Cameras & Long Battery Life
The Jio 5G smartphone could feature a 13MP + 2MP dual rear camera setup for basic photography, and a 5MP or 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. It’s expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging via USB-C, giving it enough power for a full day of moderate use. Jio may bundle the device with exclusive recharge offers or Jio apps pre-installed for added value.
Jio Phone 5G Price & Launch Timeline
The Jio Phone 5G is expected to launch by late 2025, with an aggressive price tag of around ₹8,999 to ₹9,999. It will directly compete with the Lava Blaze 5G, Redmi 13C 5G, Realme Narzo 60x, and other entry-level 5G phones. With Jio’s massive network backing, localized features, and smart pricing, this phone could quickly become India’s most affordable 5G smartphone.
